If we will predict next season’s performance of Al-Hilal based on the last one’s scenario, it is not very promising. Their supporters are a bit apprehensive on the choices of foreign players and most especially a good coach.
If we look back, the team got off on the wrong foot with its supporters to begin with. In my opinion, it is an outrage when the team manager himself opens the season by announcing to the public that the team is not looking for any championship this year! And truth be told, there came Thomas Doll. Only too late in the season, as if waking up from a bad dream that they decided to hire a new coach. And so, aren’t they lucky enough to be able to get only the Crown Prince Cup?
Making matters worse, the president of the team didn’t have the courage to talk to the public directly and instead communicated through Twitter! Despite these facts, the management is sensitive to criticism, treating each one as a personal blow to their ego. But what did they expect, really? No columnist no matter how faithful to Hilal can exaggerate so much as to make their so little accomplishments and efforts seem big and impressive.
I don’t think the team needs this kind of mismanagement and I don’t think that they deserve another four years. Even the players are beginning to lose their loyalty. Everyone is starting to look after themselves only. If you will notice, every player whose contract ended recently seems to have an issue with the management. Frankly, this team seems to be falling apart. How unfortunate.
