Hyderabad blasts (2)

News reports relating to blasts, killing dozens of people every day in Syria, Pakistan, Iraq and elsewhere are these days pushed to the inside pages of newspapers and magazines, but this time the blasts took place in an unusual place, India, and therefore it was splashed on front pages of almost all dailies. This “dastardly act,” as the Indian prime minister put it, has caused mayhem in Hyderabad. I spoke to a number of friends from this historic city, working in the Kingdom, who prayed that this should be an isolated one and not the start of a series, as we daily see in the countries mentioned above. Their fear was clearly seen in their tone of the language. We join them in their prayers for peace. Countries that have experienced terrorism in the past and those are experiencing now really know the misery it brings. Imagine when a family loses its sole breadwinner in an attack of this kind, how distressing it is? We hope that the Indian government will nab the culprits soon to avoid any more of this dastardly act in the future. — S.H. Moulana, Riyadh
