IDB, Fame SBG, Al Mustaqbal Hospital clinch JBL 2013 Non-Rated openers

The Jeddah Basketball League opened its 2013 JBL 1st Conference Non-Rated Basketball Tournament last Friday at Bin Mahfouz basketball court at Andalus District here in Jeddah.
Participating teams paraded in their resplendent uniforms during the opening ceremony which JBL President Mohammed Rasheed Suyat and JBL Commissioner Joe Dela Cerna presided. Baba Ahmad Peradilla of Jeddah Dawa’h Center provided the opening prayers and inspirational Islamic Dawa’h. Mohammed Bayoumi toss the ceremonial ball to start the tournament.
The awards for the Best team in uniform went ALJ Used Cars, Urban Design Group and Awdah. Claiming the Best Mascot accolades were Ivan and John Dennis Mendoza of NCB Quick Pay and JDC Salam Brothers White. Best Muse awards went to Safari and Urban Design Group.
Islamic Development Bank of Omer Celis beat Almabani 39-35. IDB played tough defense in the final quarter as Almabani a new team on the block missed important free throws in the dying seconds. Erwin Malabed scored 16 points Islamic Development Bank and was adjudged as the Giordano best player of the game while Caguioa top score with 10 points for Almabani.

Barangay Fame SBG of Renren Miramonte defeated Al Ittefaq 49-46. Both team played good offense in the whole game, Barangay Fame running game was very effective as Al Ittefaq lose their steam in the dying seconds. Edy Gallano had 11 points for Brangay Fame and was adjudged as the Saudi Signs best player of the game while Atonio Espayos led Al Ettifaq with 15 points.
Al Mustaqbal Hospital of Jack Esquierdo beat Safari 56-48. Al Mustaqbal Hospital showed heart in the final quarter as Safari offensive plays is unstoppable up to third quarter. Safari committed a back-to-back passing errors in the crucial seconds of the game. Al Mustaqbal converted their free throws to ice the game.
Martinez and Bertolano scored 14 points apiece for Al Mustaqbal Hospital. Martinez was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game while Edmund Icaulo top score with 9 points for Safari.
