Mahesh Bhatt, a high-flying and outspoken Indian film director, producer and writer will address the Indian community in Riyadh at the Sir Syed Day celebrations on Nov. 29.
Sir Syed Ahmad Khan (1817) was a social reformer and one of the architects of modern India. He worked to boost Muslims and the empowerment of women in society. This year will be the 195th birth anniversary of the founder of Aligarh Muslim University.
India’s Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association (AMUOBA), Riyadh chapter, organizes the event.
“The celebrations will be special this year because of the presence of Bhatt, who has directed close to 100 films and dramas besides writing scripts for many of them,” said Mohammad Ahmed Badshah, AMUOBA’s vice president and spokesman.
He pointed out that entry cards for the event could be obtained from the officials of AMUOBA Riyadh chapter by calling 0509148583, 0505195887 or 0507809863.
He asked those willing to attend the event to reserve their seats reserved in advance in order to avoid last-minute rush. The organizers are expecting a huge crowd to listen to the noted Indian filmmaker Bhatt, whose 19-year-old daughter Alia Bhatt has become a sensation in India. Alia was launched as an actor in Karan Johar’s film “Student of The Year” a few weeks ago.
