ISLAMABAD: India’s foreign minister has landed in Pakistan for talks, displaying a thaw in relations between two countries that have fought three major wars against each other.
The three-day visit by S.M. Krishna that started yesterday is not expected to produce breakthroughs on the major conflicts between the two countries, including the disputed territory of Kashmir.
Krishna and his Pakistani counterpart, Hina Rabbani Khar, are expected to announce a new visa regime that will make travel easier between the two countries.
Pakistan and India still largely view each other as enemies, but relations have improved over the past year, especially with respect to trade.
