A well-known Indian journalist who died in Jeddah following a massive heart attack at King Fahd Hospital was buried in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Syed Majeedul Hasan was 60 years of age and leaves behind his wife, son Anwarul Hassan and three daughters. His body was sent to India from Jeddah on Monday and the funeral prayers were performed at Hyderabad’s historic Makkah Masjid.
Majeedul Hasan was the brother of well-known journalist and current Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council member Syed Amin-ul-Hasan Jafri. He made a name for himself in Indian media circles through his excellent reporting and writing skills.
He worked for a number of high-ranking Indian publications, such as The Business Standard, The Telegraph, The Asian Age, Business India, Business World and Sunday Magazine.
