Western International Group — an Indian retail giant that deals with a large number of diverse products ranging from garments, electronics to home appliances and leather accessories — opened its multibrand retail store named “Brandzone” here yesterday. The company also announced an ambitious plan under which it will invest SR 1 billion in the Kingdom, by opening 50 Brandzone stores by 2015.
“The plan is to open 10 Brandzone stores in Saudi Arabia in a year from now,” said Muhammed Riyas, Brandzone general manager, while speaking on the sidelines of the opening ceremony. The new store at Ibn Sulaiman Commercial Center in Batha district of Riyadh exceeds 33,000 square feet. The inauguration of the new SR 10 million Brandzone store was attended by a huge crowd including Saudi guests, retail industry leaders as well as top executives of Western International Group.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Noushad Veerancheri, general manager of the Dubai-based Young Life; Noufal K. P., director of Western International Marketing Co., and Abdulrahman Al-Attas, Brandzone PR manager. The Brandzone general manager also announced rewards for customers in the form of shopping vouchers and massive discounts on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr and also during the rest of the year.
Riyas said that “the store would feature the four major brands namely Channel Six, Shoe Point, Babystore and G Square.”
“In fact, Brandzone, the first store of its kind in the Kingdom to target the mid-segment population, would serve as a gateway to the world of garments, footwear, baby care products, home appliances, household appliances and electronics,” he added.
He said that Brandzone would be “a welcome addition to the group’s retail portfolio” of world’s best retail and promises to enhance the shopping experience of customers in Saudi Arabia. As the name suggests, Brandzone will provide customers with a wide selection of products under one roof. “It gives me great pleasure to see the first Brandzone store in the region and we welcome all our customers to the store,” said Riyas.
“Channel Six” is one brand offered in the affordable apparel range. “Shoepoint” will be another popular brand featuring its diverse designs and models of footwear for men, women and children along with luggage accessories, he noted. Another feature is “G Square Brand,” a combination of two major retail brands “Geepas” and “Royalford,” which offer a range of home appliances, kitchenware, entertainment tools etc.
Another brand “Baby Store” has its diverse products for babies in the Brandzone Store, which will help attract families looking for feeding and caring solutions for infants. Riyas further said that newly opened Brandzone and the existing mega store in Batha called “Nesto Hypermarket” belong to the same parent company called the Western International Group.
The Nesto Group which is a chain of super markets, department stores & hypermarkets was established in 2004 in Dubai. It is a part of the Western International LLC, whose other popular brands are ‘Geepas’, ‘Royal Ford’, Clark Ford and ‘Young Life’.
The Western International Group began its business operations in 1984 in Bahrain. The most striking advantages that Nestor offers to its customers are the rock bottom prices. Nesto products are procured through international sourcing there by offering the customers "value-for-money."
