Jem Strikers clinch Team of Week honors in Faris League

JEDDAH: Jem Strikers strengthened their grip on third place in the team standings by clinching Team of the Week honors during the 12th session in the Faris Trading Monday Night Bowling League 16th Season at Jeddah Lanes in Mossadia Plaza here.
Jem returned the top tally of 34 points at the end of the chase for the coveted weekly award, with Farisbowling.com three points adrift on 31 followed by league top two Mottawer Engineering and MC Hammer which tied on 26 points.
Cee Bee Aviation was alone in fifth on the night with 25.5 points. D’ Barkads had 21 and Taurus RDLR 19.5. The previous week honoree, Brothers 4 Ever, Jeddah Lanes and Boungaville Phils. were the last three teams to check in with 18. 12 and 8 points in that order.
Jimm Aragones gained Farisbowling.com some consolation for losing the team honors when he emerged as the Bowler of the Week after shooting the high series of 710 on lines of 214, 268 and 165.
Jem Strikers bowled steady in the first two games before topping the third game and overall output at 3,096 to separate themselves from the pack.
Jeff San Pedro and Majid Aslani rolled solid series of 647 and 642 at the forefront of the Strikers who also netted 589 from Efren San Pedro and two-game contributions of 199-174 from Paul Antiporda, 193-246 from Paolo Allego and 200-170 from Manny Laguardia.
Besides Aragones Cesar Monares had a good score of 610 at Farisbowling, while Edu Toledo contributed 588 as the third player to bowl complete games. League organizer Igna Salgado tossed in 193-188, Gerry Mananas had 174-178 and Nick Gozun added 210-204. The trio of Abdullah Romaih, Atoi Cruz and Fahad Al Romaih led the Mottawer charge at 683, 611 and 574 in that order. Faisal Fintayani came through with 204-198 to go with the 160-168 by Nawaf Al Hariri and 222-188 by Mohamed Oraif.
MC Hammer had three players crossing the 600-series mark namely Randy Mata with 634, Zaldy Bacero with 616 and June Estefano with 614. Jay Bengco also went the distance on 583 with Robert Bato carding 176-193 and Ed Sardiña 171.
Cee Bee used a single set of five players with the duo of Oca Bernabe and Goying Salazar taking charge on 669 and 666. Pancho Cuevas fired 589, Johndy Cantara 548 and Rene Punzalan 539.
