I am writing this in response to the report, “86% jobs are not fit for Saudis.” My question to the minister is that if the ministry is trying to remove the expats doing these 86 percent of the jobs then who sill replace them? I think if the ministry is committed to reducing the unemployment in the country then it should motivate the nation to take up all kinds of skilled and unskilled jobs.
The world’s most advanced nations like the US and those in Europe don’t feel any embarrassment in doing in menial jobs. A skilled workforce is the strength of every nation. There are people belonging to different education levels and the private sector cannot appoint a person with only a high school certificate in administrative or management position.
This will negatively impact the private business itself. Labor Ministry should review its strategy if it really wants to address the unemployment issue in the country. — Tariq Javed, By e-mail
