KACST team obtains patent to develop paints

A team from King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) recently obtained a US patent after having developed friction and abrasion-resistant paints.
The KACST team reportedly worked for three years to develop this product by using nano technology, ultrasound frequencies and radiotherapy, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. The product has been characterized as friendly to humans and environment and highly resistant to abrasion and friction. The paints can be used in many applications such as car and aircraft bodies, furniture, machinery and upholstery. Cost of production is almost identical to the cost of existing products in the domestic market. The team was composed of Muhammed Abdullah Ba Hattab, Ahmed Ali Basfar, Kandakar Muhammed Idris, and Muhammed Asif Alam.
