Kudu, Nadec set up title showdown

On a cold windy night the stage was set for the championship showdown between unbeaten Kudu and Nadec in the Non-Rated Inter-Company basketball tournament 2013 in the 19th Season Basketball Fever in Riyadh and at the Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers rubberized court here.
Nadec won by default over Matagbak Controllers while Kudu defeated Al Hokair 89-77 with Bhatu Orlina, Fernando Pasig and Bernard Fabila at the helm scoring d 20, 19 and 13 points during Sunday’s games.
Although Al Hokair’s Michael Calma hit the board with his 33 points and JR Cava added 21 points this did not stop the rampaging Kudu boys from controlling the game to avoid a possible triple tie with Nadec and Al Hokair.
Kudu finished the four-team round robin semifinal at 3-0 while Al Hokair dropped to 1-2 card and will now play with Matagbak Controllers in a knockout game for third place.
Nadec wound up with a 2-1 record as it earned a shot for the championship opposite Kudu in a best-of-three series.
Prior to Sunday’s games Al Hokair tasted its first defeat, 102-96, at the hands of Nadec to close the eliminations at 4-1.
Kudu and Nadec open their title series after the knockout game between Hokari and Matagbak at 5:30 p.m. today.
