The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) spending most of the session above the breakeven line edged higher yesterday at 7,053.29, up 38.39 points or 0.55 percent from previous level. The index traded within a range of 49 points, moving 41 points up and 8 points below the level of opening bell yesterday.
Among market cap indices only Large cap was able to close higher (+1.14 percent) and which supported TASI to move upward. Al-Rajhi Bank, Samba Financial Group and Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) played well among large cap stocks, surging by 1.85 percent, 1.76 percent and 1.57 percent respectively.
Saudi sectors indices performed in a mixed fashion, with seven sectors showing a collection of 391 points and an equal number of sectors trimming 190.4 points jointly. While, Energy & Utilities sector ended without any change.
Positive performance was boosted by Banks & Financial Services, which surged 285.6 points or 1.91 percent to cross 15,000 mark. Banque Saudi Fransi and Bank Albilad showed a tremendous performance, moving up by 3.7 percent.
The market breadth with advance-decline ratio of 0.56:1 remained a little unfavorable.
Amana Cooperative Insurance and Dallah Healthcare Co. dominated the performance among all Saudi equities, topping the gainer chart with a positive change of 9.95 percent and 9.65 percent respectively.
On the other hand, most active stocks Saudi Integrated Telecommunication Co. and Dar Alarkan Real Estate became the biggest losers of the day, turning down 7.79 percent and 6.08 percent respectively.
Market activity was high, specifically SR 7.2 billion were poured into the market. Trading volume was impressive, with about 321.8 million shares changed hands in the market, a remarkable 60 percent growth when compared with Monday's trading.
