New university

This refers to the report, “New university to solve problem of expats.”

A Saudi business group led by Prince Faisal bin Saud bin Musaed has taken the initiative to open an international university, which comes as a great relief to the expatriates.

We welcome the initiative taken by the Gammon Group and congratulate them with best wishes. It was an old dream of expatriates especially those whose children are studying in the Kingdom, but are forced to leave for their home countries for higher studies.

I would request the business group to establish the university in three major cities — Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam — in the first stage. Later it may be established in other cities in the Kingdom where the foreign families lack facilities for their wards to pursue higher education. I would also like to request the Gammon Group for considering an affordable fee structure that would benefit the expats greatly.

I once again congratulate Prince Faisal and Gammon Group Chairman Sheikh Rafik Mohammed for their visionary idea. — Khazi M. Atiyuddin, By email
