This is with reference to the report “41 parks and garden opened” (May 31). The government efforts in providing the citizens and expatriates with such facilities are commendable. I urge the authorities to initiate such projects in every neighborhood across various cities in Saudi Arabia. Such places are not only sources of healthy entertainment but also beautify cities or neighborhoods. The authorities should try to make proper arrangements for the upkeep of these facilities as well. I think that construction of these facilities is not a difficult thing. The subsequent maintenance is an important issue. I am not a geologist but I think that we can grow some kind of trees along pavements and roads. These trees will not only provide shade to the passersby but will also help fight environment pollution. — Ghaffar Adil, Jubail
