I read with interest the article “Europe’s extreme view on headscarf” (June 12) by Jamal Doumani. We usually criticize the United States for every evil in the world and tend to ignore the positive aspects of this country. There is a great need to highlight such incidents. The writer has done a wonderful job. Americans are a nice people. They are being fed with wrong information about Muslims and Islam. If they receive correct information, they would emerge as the strongest supporters of Muslims. We cannot blame an average American for the mistakes of former US President George W. Bush. The impact of the ill-conceived policies of the Bush administration is still being felt. Even US President Barack Obama has been unable to undo what his predecessor has done.
Bush and Blair were liars and should be treated as criminals. The duo pushed the entire world into an abyss. What exactly were their intentions? Why they were so enthusiastic about the Iraq and Afghanistan invasions? These are some important questions that need answers.
