“Little known about Tennessee gunman in fatal shooting” (July 17) is a sad commentary on Muslim youths going haywire.
How strange, a country that gives them the facilities, permissions and a space in its society becomes a victim of their reckless behavior!
There is definitely a surge into such incidents in recent times when armed young men would barge in restaurants, government facilities or even beach to rain bullets on innocent and unsuspecting men and women and kill them for no fault of theirs.
Such crimes may not be a Muslim monopoly as we have seen several such killings taking place by gun-toting, trigger-happy youth who were found to be attached to any other faith but Islam.
And if so many incidents are happening in the European countries and in the US then the issue gets a larger context in which this is happening and which needs to be thoroughly examined by those governments. They need to find out the reason for the growing intolerant attitude in their society.
I would rather go one step ahead by suggesting some Muslim countries should commission a think tank of international repute to study the phenomenon.
The terms of such investigations should also include why Muslim youths, that too in the West, are becoming more proactive militant now than any time in the past.
