Mahmoud, Shah shine in IDB cricket tourney

Islamic Development Bank, Orange, scored a thrilling 2-run win over Islamic Development Bank, Green, (ICIEC) in the second week of the 10-over Islamic Development Bank (IDB) cricket tournament, organized by IDB’s social and Cultural Forum at the Bank’s Green Lawn Ground last week. IDB, Orange, batting first, scored 73 runs from their stipulated overs. Shoaib top-scored with 22 runs followed by Waqas who got 18. Tatiq and Zeeshan bagged 2 wickets each for the bowling side.
However, IDB, Green gave a spirited reply, but fell short by a couple of runs. Rizwan was the highest scorer with 19 runs. Khursheed with 13 runs gave him support. Abdallah Shah did most of the damage as he took 4 wickets.
In another match, IDB, Red, (ICD) got the better of IDB, Blue (ITD) by 21 runs after putting up 105 runs on board.
Asif Mahmoud was the architect of Red’s win with a well-made 55 runs. Ameen got 15 runs. Misbah got 2 wickets. For Blue, Zaheer was the highest run-getter with 24. Waqas supported him with 18 runs.
In the previous week, IDB, Orange, beat IDB, White, by 6 wickets after they totaled 66 runs. Abdallah Shah was the man of the match for his 18 runs and 2 wickets. Zaid Ahmed and Omar Taufiq shared 4 wickets. For White, Taimur Khan and Avais Khaled got 11 and 10 runs respectively.
