The commission of marriage brokers in the Family Development Center in Al-Ahsaa received 579 cases since it first started eight years ago.
The sum of cases ending in reconciliation reached 425 cases, or 63 percent, while the cases ending in conflict reached 158 (37 percent).
More than 2,231 people benefitted from the commission’s work.
The committee’s leader, Sheikh Raed Al-Na’eem, said: “Ninety percent of the cases revolves around family matters, and the main target of this commission is to fix marriages after studying the case in a practical, accurate way.
“The highest cases we’ve received were 91 cases of physical abuse; disregarding alimony came second with 75 cases.”
The commission also launched offices in the public court and many other offices to handle family matters before sending them to the commission’s main center. More than 30 participated in a meeting that targeted “introducing the center and its various programs, spreading proper family cultures, developing marital relations, and the art of dealing with teenagers and kids,” said Al-Na’eem.
Khalid Alhelaibi, the Family Development Center’s administer, added: “The center is at full preparation to launch a training program specialized in reforming marriages, discussing the high pre-material fees, helping youngsters in marriages, and to overcome the first years of marriage peacefully.”
