Charity House has headed a campaign called “Marry Us” via Twitter for marriage and family guidance in Jeddah. The charity received donations worth SR 450,000 for 60 young men and women. The event took place in Jeddah in the presence of Abdulla Al-Tawi, manager of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
The charity seeks to offer help and support for those who want to get married. The charity launched a campaign called “Marry Us” through their Twitter account to marry 200 young men and women.
During the event, Al-Tawi expressed his appreciation to Jeddah’s marriage charity for using social networks to support the youth, and for drawing on a number of well-known social characters to encourage society to support and interact with the campaign.
Al-Tawi pointed out that charities are in desperate need to market over social networks and think outside the box for projects and programs. “Electronic donations are the future and the financial ground of this charity work for years to come,” he added. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Atheem, head of the charity’s board of directors, said the charity worked on providing technical tools to support its marrying 200 young men and women. The campaign witnessed a number of male and female volunteers, including preachers, scholars, athletes, artists and a number of well-known social media characters. This step, added Al-Atheem, goes along with the charity’s intention to facilitate marriage for the youth. Therefore, they are taking a step forward by providing for them financially, from simplified loans and zakat (money given to charity), to furniture and gifts for the newlyweds.
Al-Atheem thanked and prayed for those who were part of this project.
The main goal of the Charity Society for Marriage and Family Guidance in Jeddah, according to them, is to specialize in building successful marriages and happy families through helping the youth in need, and walking them through stable life lessons by signing them into programs for such purposes.
