JEDDAH: Iranian interference in the domestic affairs of Arab countries has destroyed the economic condition of the Iranian people as some of them have resorted to selling their organs to make ends meet.

The Iranian central bank announced that the number of poor Iranians increased to 14 million. This figure comes as a result of Tehran’s high expenditures to support foreign militias to destabilize Arab countries, according to a report in Makkah newspaper.

Iran experts said the humanitarian situation of Iranians has sharply deteriorated which could explode in a revolution.

Ayed Al-Shammari, a Saudi political expert, said the phenomenon of organ trade takes place in several regions in Iran because the government does not pay attention to fix the economy.

“Iran is the only country in the world which did not ban human organ trafficking. Most poor people in Iran are victims of brokers of organ trafficking who exploit their needs for food or other living requirements. Several Iranian newspapers have published tragic stories of people who sold their organ at low prices to continue living,” he said.

Mohammed Al-Mazhadji, another expert in Iranian affairs, said that kidney patients on the donation wait list in Europe are aged 12 to 17 years, with most of them dying before receiving one. However, the average period to get an organ in Iran is between two and seven months, depending on the patient’s blood type and other factors, and the number of patients who are waiting for kidneys.
