Mobily's net income up 22% in Q2

Announcing its consolidated financial results for Q2, 2012, Mobily said its net income for the six-month period amounted to SR 1.42 billion compared to SR 1.16 billion for the same period last year, marking an increase of 22 percent and an increase of 18 percent over Q1, 2012 results of SR 1.21 billion.
Its gross profit for Q2, amounted to SR 2.96 billion compared to SR 2.48 billion for the same period last year, with an increase of 19 percent. Operating income for Q2, 2012 amounted to SR 1.47 billion compared to SR 1.22 billion for the same period last year, with an increase of 20 percent.
Net income for the first 6-month period amounted to SR 2.63 billion compared to SR 2.16 billion for the same period last year, with an increase of 22.
Earnings per share (EPS) for the first 6-month period amounted to SR 3.76 compared to SR 3.09 for the same period last year.
Gross profit for the first 6 month period amounted to SR 5.57 billion compared to SR 4.77 billion for the same period last year, with an increase of 17.
Operating income for the first 6-month period amounted to SR 2.72 billion compared to SR 2.28 billion for the same period last year, with an increase of 19 percent.
Revenues for the first half of 2012 amounted to SR 10.69 billion compared to SR 9.61 billion for the same period last year, with an increase of 11 percent. Revenues for Q2, 2012 amounted to SR 5.68 billion compared to SR 5.13 billion for the same period last year, with an increase of 11 percent and an increase of 13 percent over Q1, 2012 results of SR 5.01 billion.
Abdulaziz Saleh Al-Saghyir, chairman of Mobily board of directors, said: "The increase is attributable to the growth in data revenue which has a high-margin. Data revenue reached 24 percent of the total revenue of first half of 2012 (25 percent of the total revenue of Q2, 2012). The increase in revenue is also attributable to the growth in the business sector revenue and rise in smart phone sales.
