National Day activities planned in all schools

Jeddah Education Director Abdullah bin Ahmad Al-Thaqafi has issued directives to all government schools in the city to hold National Day celebration activities. National Day is next Sunday, and students will be celebrating for a week starting Monday, as Saturday and Sunday will be holidays for all government employees and students. 
Al-Thaqafi said that schools had plans to mark the occasion including contests in research, writing, drawing and photography, and pupils would participate in art exhibitions, symposiums and lectures involving documentaries on the country’s achievements.
Pupils would also be participating in a Saudi flag code program and be educated about the importance of taking care of it. They would also be marking the occasion by visiting a number of government offices, historic sites and urban landmarks to educate themselves about the country’s developments and achievements.
Anas Abu Dawoud, Jeddah Education’s director of the Extra Curricula Activities Department, said his department had prepared a number of programs aimed at highlighting the role of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah in unifying the country, and educating the students about the principles and foundations on which the leaders of this country depended on for the sake of uniting the nation and strengthening its people’s sense of belonging and encouraging them to preserve and develop the country’s gains and achievements.
Director of Counseling and Guidance Department Hasan Al-Salmi said school counselors had prepared pupils for celebrating National Day. “Pupils will show their talents and express their love and loyalty to their home country and leadership.”
The International Indian School Jeddah announced yesterday that it would remain closed on Sept. 22 and 23 to mark the Kingdom’s National Day.
According to a statement issued by Principal Syed Masood Ahmed, exams of IX and X grades scheduled for Sept. 22 will be conducted on Sept. 24 and exams scheduled for Sept. 24 will be conducted on Oct. 1. For VI and VIII grades, the exams of Sept. 22 have been rescheduled to Oct. 3.
