Saher helped reduce traffic accidents in the Kingdom by 37 percent, according to director of traffic department in Tabuk.
Brig. Mohammad Al-Najjar said Saher would be added to new areas and have updated systems soon. “Saher is not a ticketing system only, it’s rather a means to achieve higher road safety,” he said.
Some mechanisms in Saher are designed to provide saver roads without any penalties, Al-Najjar said.
He also said Saher will be applied on highways between main cities.
He warned that the maximum penalty would be levied on those trying to go around traffic rules by hiding their car license plates. Efforts will be doubled on the ground to counter the violations that drivers commit intentionally, he said.
