Asir Gov. Prince Faisal ibn Khaled accused a hostile country that he did not mention by name of stirring up the infiltration of Africans through the Saudi Yemeni border. He told Al-Watan that there is no dispute with Sanaa regarding the security fence at the border, which covers around 1,450 km.
During a TV interview, which aired last night on Channel One of Saudi TV, he said the entire border area would be cleansed of infiltrators in two months.
He also said that there are no longer any disputes with the Yemeni side and that work on the fence had already begun and would be complete within a year.
The prince said that the problem with infiltrators is that there are persons who "host them and give them housing and work."
"Most of them," the prince said, "are thieves, traffickers and liquor processors."
He said the foreign hostile country is aided by known Yemeni groups like the followers of Houthi. They seek to increase the numbers of Africans in the country in order to create a state of suspicion between citizens and the police.
He revealed that in the last four months, 13,000 infiltrators were deported at the rate of 1,000 to 2,000 every week.
