Jeddah Eagles, Almabani clash in JBL Group A final

Jeddah Eagles of coach Hassan Zennoudine beat Uptown 966 75-64 to gain the first slot in the best-of-three championship for Group A in the JBL tournament at Bin Mafouz basketball court on Tahlia Street, Al Andalus District here.
Jeddah Eagles almost collapsed in the crucial minutes of the game. Uptown 966 missed important baskets and committed passing errors in the dying seconds. Alfred had 31 big points for Jeddah Eagles and was adjudged as the Giordano best player of the game while Condeno scored 23 points for Uptown 966.

Almabani of Vic Carreon again defeated ALJ Used Cars 94-91 for the second Group A championship berth. Almabani showed heart in the dying seconds of the game as ALJ Used Cars with a never-say-die mindset continued to attack the defense of Almabani.
A crucial ALJ passing error of gave Almabani the win. Caguioa top-scored with 29 points for Almabani and was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game while Llamado chipped in 37 big points for ALJ Used Cars.
Saudia Aviation of Andrew Masongsong beat Marhaba 74-63 for the last semifinal seat. Saudia Aviation’s run-and-gun offense in the final quarter was unstoppable.
Marhaba tried hard to contain their offense but lost steam.
Taqwa Brothers Green of Abdulaziz Yu defeated Sabr Brothers Yellow 81-75 in the Jeddah Dawah Center Inter Color. Taqwa Brothers’ outside snipping connected in the final quarter.
Meanwhile, JBL is preparing for the 2013 second Conference which is scheduled on June 14.
