The Sudanese Embassy recently honored a group of Arab and Sudanese engineers who have finished a training course on enhancing their media skills at its Riyadh-based premises.
The honoring ceremony coincided with the announcement that Riyadh has been selected as the capital of Arab press for the year 2013.
Abdulhafiz Ibrahim, Sudanese ambassador to Riyadh, presented the engineers with certificates in the presence of Ghazi Al-Abbasi, secretary general of the Saudi Engineers Association, Abdin Abdulmonim, secretary general of the Sudanese Engineers Association and Munzir Mushtaha, head of the Jordanian Engineers Association.
Haitham Youssef, the ambassador of Arab media in Riyadh, supervised the training course.
Sudanese Ambassador Ibrahim expressed thanks to the Saudi Engineers Association (SEA) for keeping contact with their Sudanese counterparts and called for cementing cooperation amongst all the engineering bodies in the Arab countries.
For his part, Ghazi Al-Abbasi said the SEA will remain an umbrella for all engineering bodies residing in the Kingdom. He affirmed that the engineering profession makes no distinction between nationalities because they are working as colleagues regardless of nationalities.
Meanwhile, Mushtaha appreciated the role of the Kingdom in organizing such courses, which boost the career development of engineers in areas not falling within their specialties.
Abdin Abdulmonim also conveyed his appreciation to the SEA for allowing the Sudanese engineers to participate in the elections for different Saudi engineering units.
It is to be recalled that a series of activities will be organized in the Saudi capital within the occasion of selecting Riyadh as the capital of Arab press, starting from the current month of March.
Riyadh was reportedly chosen to be the capital of Arab Press due to the efforts exerted by the Saudi government in encouraging journalism and fostering conducive conditions to enhance press professionalism.
