Bad meat supplies seized

Meat supplies from unknown sources have been found at a local store during inspection field tours that the Mayoralty of Madinah conducts regularly. The meat was not fit for human consumption and was stored in a kitchen that lacked basic amenities for storage and meat preparation. Around 170 kilos of meat, 30 kilos of minced meat, 100 pieces of liver and 100 kilos of frying oil were found inside the refrigerator.
The products were seized by the team and were handed over to a specialized agency to dispose of them.
Meanwhile, a number Asian expat workers were caught making, selling and delivering sweets to wedding houses and kitchens in Madinah.
Muhammad Slaihim, director general for Market Affairs and a member of the Division of Commercial Fraud in the Madinah Mayoralty, advised citizens to be careful and contact the Mayoralty if they see stores stocking unauthorized foodstuffs or supplies that come from unknown sources.
