LOS ANGELES: Clayton Kershaw threw seven scoreless innings and Los Angeles continued its recent domination of Pittsburgh with a 1-0 win in California on Saturday.
Kershaw (2-0), who threw a four-hit shutout in the season opener against the Giants, allowed two hits, struck out nine and walked one before he was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the seventh.
The Dodgers took a 1-0 lead in the third inning after Carl Crawford reached on an infield single with two outs off Pirates starter A.J. Burnett (0-2), stole second and came home on a ground ball base hit to left by Mark Ellis.
Diamondbacks 9 Brewers 2: Jason Kubel and Paul Goldschmidt delivered two-run homers and Patrick Corbin pitched six solid innings as the Arizona Diamonbacks won their third straight game.
Aaron Hill homered and had an RBI double while red-hot Gerardo Parra and Eric Hinske added run-scoring singles for the Diamondbacks, who had 16 hits. Corbin (1-0), who won the No. 5 spot in the rotation in spring training, allowed two runs and eight hits.
Twins 6 Orioles 5: Justin Morneau drove in the go-ahead run with a ninth-inning single against Baltimore closer Jim Johnson, and Minnesota evened the series at a game apiece.
Orioles slugger Chris Davis went 1-for-3 with an RBI and had his home run streak snapped at four games. Nick Markakis was 4-for-5 and Adam Jones had two hits and three RBIs for Baltimore.
Braves 6 Cubs 5: B.J. Upton and Justin Upton homered in the bottom of the ninth inning to cap Atlanta’s late rally and give the Braves a second straight victory over the Chicago Cubs.
Atlanta roughed up the struggling back end of the Cubs’ bullpen, scoring three runs in the eighth against setup man Kyuji Fujikawa before the Upton brothers connected against closer Carlos Marmol (0-1) in the ninth.

Phillies 4 Royals 3: Pinch hitter Kevin Frandsen ripped a bases-clearing walk-off double with two outs in the ninth inning to lift Philadelphia to a dramatic victory.
Kansas City closer Greg Holland walked the bases loaded in the ninth before striking out Domonic Brown and John Mayberry, but Frandsen, who was hitting for catcher Humberto Quintero, lined the first pitch he saw into the gap in right-center field to drive in three and set off a raucous scene at Citizens Bank Park.
Rockies 6 Padres 3: Michael Cuddyer homered and drove in four runs while Jon Garland pitched six strong innings in his first start in nearly 22 months as host
Colorado won its fourth straight game.
Cuddyer also had a pair of RBI singles while Troy Tulowitzki added two hits and an RBI as the middle of the Rockies’ lineup continued its torrid start.
Athletics 6 Astros 3: Coco Crisp homered for the second straight game and Jed Lowrie added a solo shot in the sixth inning against his former club as visiting Oakland downed Houston.
Six different Athletics scored a run in support of Bartolo Colon (1-0), who made his first start after serving a 50-game suspension for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs.
Rays 6 Indians 0: Alex Cobb threw 7 1/3 strong innings and Kelly Johnson hit a two-run homer as Tampa Bay blanked visiting Cleveland for the second straight game.
Johnson, the No. 9 hitter, gave the Rays a 3-0 lead with his two-run homer down the right-field line in the fourth inning. Matt Albers relieved Cleveland starter Trevor Bauer (0-1) to start the sixth and allowed a run-scoring single to designated hitter Shelley Duncan for a 4-0 lead.
Tigers 8 Yankees 4: Austin Jackson had three hits and scored three runs and Prince Fielder drove in a pair as Detroit clinched the three-game set against New York.
Miguel Cabrera went 4-for-4 with an RBI and Torii Hunter recorded three hits and drove in a run in support of Max Scherzer (1-0), who struck out seven while allowing four runs and five hits in five-plus innings for the Tigers.
Cardinals 6 Giants 3: Carlos Beltran broke out of an early slump with two hits and three RBIs as St. Louis evened the series against San Francisco in California.
Rookie Shelby Miller (1-0) earned his second career win after giving up two runs on four hits over 5 1/3 innings.
Mitchell Boggs worked around a two-out single in the ninth for his first save for the Cardinals, who trailed 2-1 before Beltran capped a three-run fifth inning with a two-run double off Ryan Vogelsong (0-1).
Angels 8 Rangers 4: Albert Pujols homered twice and Peter Bourjos and Mark Trumbo also went deep as Los Angeles powered past the Rangers in Texas.
Pujols hit a two-run blast in the first and added a solo shot in the sixth for his 45th career multi-homer gamer.
Trumbo also hit a two-run shot in the opening inning as the Angels staked Tommy Hanson (1-0) to a four-run lead before he took the mound.
Elsewhere, its Washington 7 Cincinnati 6 in 11 innings, Toronto 5 Boston 0, New York Mets 7 Miami 3, and Chicago 4 Seattle 3.
