Tennis aficionados continue to pack the InterContinental Hotel courts to watch the ongoing 34th BSF Desert Classic Tennis Tournament.
In the B singles, Khalid Bahli strolled through to the second round with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Abdullah Daweesh, Omar Abdo had a walkover win against Omar Al Yami, Abdul Ali Saeed eliminated Moyad Al Noyaiser 8-7, 7-5, Baraa Al Alawi subdued Salman Al Wasidi 6-3, 6-4, while Filipino Cloyd Cuarto had a one sided match over Hirvoven Teo at 6-0, 6-3.
In the C singles, Rakan Al Qanood beat Bandar Nahis, 6-3-, 6-4, Mohammad Amri easily beat Hassan Allam at 6-0, 6-0, Hashim Macabantog digged deeper to beat Abdulelah Daweesh at 6-7, 7-6, 6-2, Sonny Beringuel get past Abdullah Mohsen, 6-4, 6-4, Gehad Sheet beat Soll Toloza at 6-6, 6-4, Youssef Abdulfattah beat Azzam Fathi Mohd at 7-5, 6-3, Naif Shehri beat Malik Sabri at 6-1, 6-2, Mohamed Taef beat Abelrahman Deveder, 6-1, 6-2, while Ahmad Tubigy easily beat Ocatavidan Cucu at 6-0, 6-2. Farhan Anezi beat Badr Al-Sheikh, 6-0, 7-5, Asim Mafees Qureshi bowed to Song Lee, 2-6, 2-6, while Abdullah Esmaeil lost to Faisal Rebdi. 4-6, 3-6.
In other results in the 16 Under category, Taha Syed made a good start by beating Abdulaziz Bayouk 8-0, John Vera cruised to the second round by beating Ali Nader at 8-3, Jaime Cerda beat Hamzah Abdulfatah at 8-1, Omar Nasr lost to Talal Abbas at 1-8, Youssuf Abdulfattah had a walkover win over Mohammad Taef, Hamza Haziban beat the challenge of Hasasn Alam in a tiebreaker 7-7 (7-5), Malik Moustafa Sabri moved to the second round by beating Sulaiman Khateeb at 8-6, Wadah Jabar had an easy win over Abdulla Tawri at 8-1, while Azzan Mohammed beat Eid Masri at 8-2.
