KSA raps ‘act of terror’ in US
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, sent yesterday separate messages of condolences to US President Barack Obama over the loss of lives in the two explosions during Boston marathon on Monday.
“The group responsible for this heinous crime is an enemy of humanity and it represents no one but itself. Condemning the act of terror, the king said in his message: “No religion, no values, will sanction this act.”
The king directed Saudi Ambassador in Washington Adel Jubeir to inquire about the safety and security of Saudi male and female students and citizens in the wake of the blasts.
A statement issued by the Royal Court quoted the Saudi envoy as saying that there were no Saudis among the dead or injured.
Mohammed Al-Isa, the cultural attache at the Saudi Embassy in Washington, termed the news alleging involvement of a Saudi national in the blasts “mere speculation and devoid of truth.”
He said the number of Saudi students in Boston is over 1,000.
Meanwhile, US investigators yesterday pledged to go "to the ends of the Earth" to find those behind the bombings that took three lives and left over 170 wounded, some seriously.
