Miami Marlins rout Nationals 8-2

MIAMI: Adeiny Hechavarria hit a three-run homer and Justin Ruggiano also drove in three runs as host Miami routed Washington 8-2 on Tuesday.
Juan Pierre had three hits and Greg Dobbs had two RBIs as the Marlins set a season high for runs scored even though All-Star outfielder Giancarlo Stanton missed his fifth straight game with a shoulder ailment.
Braves 6 Royals 3: Jason Heyward and Justin Upton hit back-to-back eighth-inning homers as host Atlanta extended its winning streak to 10 games.
The Braves are 12-1 for the first time since 1994 and have their longest winning streak in 13 years. Juan Francisco homered twice and Dan Uggla added an eighth-inning shot as Atlanta hit five solo homers.
Rangers 4 Cubs 2: Derek Holland tossed seven scoreless frames in his Wrigley Field debut and Adrian Beltre blasted a two-run homer as Texas claimed the opener of the three-game interleague series.
Holland (1-1) struck out six and limited the Cubs to two hits before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the eighth.
Rockies 8 Mets 4 (Game 1): Carlos Gonzalez homered and tripled and Eric Young had three hits and two RBIs to power host Colorado to its fourth straight win in the first game of a doubleheader.
Todd Helton had a go-ahead, two-run single and Wilin Rosario and Jonathan Herrera added RBI singles for the Rockies before a tiny crowd in frigid conditions. There was a two-hour delay at the start while snow had to be removed from the field.
Rockies 9 Mets 8 (10 innings): The Colorado Rockies overcame a six-run deficit on Tuesday in the second game of a split doubleheader with the New York Mets, tying the game with a gift of two unearned runs in the eighth and winning 9-8 in 10 innings to sweep their split doubleheader.
Jordan Pacheco singled home the winning run with two out against Greg Burke. With two out in the 10th, Carlos Gonzalez walked and Michael Cuddyer reached base on an error by third baseman David Wright.
Padres 9 Dodgers 2: San Diego knocked around stand-in Chris Capuano for two innings before he left with a strained calf and Jason Marquis shut down the Los Angeles Dodgers in a 9-2 win on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium.
The Padres banged out 15 hits, five batters had multi-hit games and San Diego scored runs in five innings.

Tigers 6 Mariners: 2 Miguel Cabrera drove in Detroit’s first four runs in a 6-2 win over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday.
Cabrera sandwiched RBI singles in the first and seventh innings around a two-run homer in the fifth, leading the Tigers (8-5) to a 4-2 lead as they extended their winning streak to three games.
