Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, officially launched its next flagship smart phone, the Galaxy S4, at a recent function in Riyadh.
Galaxy S4 keeps the user up-to-date on health and well-being information using the new ‘S-Health’ software.
The combination of sensors built within the device automatically monitors his/her health and surroundings to help improve one’s quality of life.
One can also check health conditions using built-in food diary, exercise diary and sleep monitor to stay fit and healthy.
In his presentation, Faisal Saif, a well-known radio entertainer among the Saudi youth, said the new smart phone will redefine the way we live and make every moment of life meaningful.
He said Samsung believes in the importance of an effortless user experience.
By designing the Galaxy S4, it sought to make life easy and hassle-free by helping the user take care of his/her well-being.
“Before launching our new device, some people in the US started talking about it and for us this is a good indication that the world is closely following us,” said, Park Jae Cheon, general manager of Samsung Electronics in Saudi Arabia.
He said: “We are committed to innovation and we are always out there listening to our customers’ needs and expectations around the world; so we have merged the best of class hardware and the most advanced software to offer a new benchmark in terms of smartphone innovation and ultimately provide a true life companion for our customers. At Samsung we’ll never stop pursuing innovation conceived by people, so we can inspire them in return.”
He added: “The Galaxy S4 is brought to you to exceed all expectations.”
The long-awaited smartphone is thinner and lighter than S3 as it comes with a 5” Full HD Super AMOLED screen with a whopping 440ppi pixel with 1080X1920HP clarity weighing only 130 g and it is the first phone to feature Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 for higher screen protection.
It runs on Android Jelly Bean OS 4.2.2 beneath its very highly customized Touch Wiz UX interface; it uses a 1.6 Ghz Octa-Core Exynos 5 processor with a battery capacity of 2600 MAH.
Equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera, the Galaxy S4 also features a ‘Dual Camera’ function that allows simultaneous use of both front and rear cameras. At the same time, the ‘Dual Video Call’ function enables the user to make and receive a video call with friends and family enabling them to make a see-through call.
The camera functionality extends beyond Dual Camera, as the device is also equipped with 12 outstanding shooting modes including ‘Drama Shot’, which allows him/her to see all the action in one continuous time-lapse. Its ‘Sound & Shot’ stores sound and voice together as the picture is taken so those special moments are captured in the truest form imaginable, exactly as they happened.
The list goes on in terms of benefits, as Galaxy S4 is the definition of connecting people through all its features and applications. The new ‘Group Play’ function is a service that allows up to 8 Galaxy S4 users to connect and play a game together, or it can be used to get a surround sound effect on a favorite song by assigning each phone to work as a channel of a surround sound system.
This innovative feature enables users to connect directly with others to share, play and co-create content and entertainment instantly.
Samsung Galaxy S4 enables friends to share screens as well as explore each other’s favorite music, files and games with the ‘ChatOn’ Application. It not only overcomes barriers of distance but also breaks down language barriers with the ‘S Translator’ application which can translate words and sentences between 9 languages: users can write the word or simply say it and the phone will translate it.
The device has a “well-connected multitasking” facility: users have to simply move your hand in motion at the device to accept calls, change music, or browse the web and your photos with ‘Air Gesture” whilst ‘Air View’ makes it quicker, easier, and super-convenient to enlarge content and photos, preview e-mails, and speed dial all with a finger barely hovering over the screen.
Maximizing on productivity, Samsung Galaxy S4 follows your every move. ‘Smart Pause’ is the upgraded Smart Stay feature which detects the user’s movement and if, for instance, while watching a movie the user takes their eyes off the screen or looks elsewhere, the phone “smartly” pauses. And just like it “smartly” paused; it will also restart “smartly”.
