Gonzales, Victorino lead April winners in OFBC monthly tournament

The OFBC (Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club) held its second monthly event and the fourth in the schedule at its new home, Ice Land Bowling Center, on Friday with Vic Gonzales and Akang Victorino taking the podium as the Bowlers of the Month for April.
Unlike the March tournament in which the men’s and ladies champions went wire-to-wire Gonzales and Victorino poured it on in the two-game finals to lead the fresh set of winners all with a chance to win the two brand new laptops during the year-end Bowler of the Year Championship in December.
Class D bowler Gonzales shot a winning two-game series of 381 with Class B Ruel Santoc taking first runner-up on 377. Class C Rudy Jamon was second runner-up on 376 with Class B and last qualifier Edu Toledo in fourth place on 368.
Victorino, a Class D player like Gonzales, put together a solid 417 to win the ladies plum, well in front of first runner-up Class B Minda Guevarra who drilled 382. Jana Delia Felesmina and Carmen Lim, bracketed in Class C and Class D respectively, finished second runner-up and third runner-up on 378 and 357.
Class A Ed Sardiña and Class B Malou Nidoy topped the four-game qualifying on 787 and 765 but both missed out on the prizes although Nidoy was the March Bowler of the Month.
In addition to the cash prizes first-place winners each received a 5kg. bag of rice courtesy of Makatifoods through Robert Stone. The rest of the winners received cash prizes, too.
