Jeddah: Prince Khalid bin Saud bin Khalid, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, has clarified that ‘As a result of continuous follow-up and directives of Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Saudi citizen Saeed bin Mohsen Al-Mahri was released after being detained with others in Tanzania following the criminal bombing of a church in Arusha. The release of Al-Mahri came after intense efforts and contacts by Saudi Ambassador to Tanzania and Saudi Embassy’s staff in Arusha. Al-Mahri was not charged with any offense.’
Prince Khalid stressed that Al-Mahri is in good health and is on his way to the Kingdom.
Prince Khalid thanked Tanzanian government officials for their efforts and cooperation in releasing Al-Mahri. He also confirmed that the Saudi leadership is keen on following-up on matters concerning Saudi nationals and is concerned for their safety and security wherever they are.
