Turkey’s TAV Construction has received the design and construction tender worth $ 400 million for the King Khaled Airport Terminal 5 in Riyadh.
Construction is planned to be completed in 18 months, according to a statement. It is the third tender TAV Construction has won in Saudi Arabia after the Jeddah Airport Aircraft Maintenance Hangars and Madinah Airport projects.
In addition to a 100,000 square meter passenger terminal and various auxiliary facilities, the tender covers a 90,000 sq meter and 3,000 vehicle capacity multi-story car park, fire brigade building, operation center, power station, apron, air side infrastructure and the elevated roads and infrastructure work that will join terminal-5 to the existing terminals.
TAV Group CEO Sani Sener said: “This is a very important project. Airport privatizations are continuing in Saudi Arabia. This airport is also one of those which will be privatized soon. In the meantime, our investment and operation in Medina is also ongoing. Our $ 800 million hangar construction project at Jeddah Airport also continues.”
