Shoura Council: Ministry reports lack financial details

The Management and Human Resources Committee at the Shoura Council has criticized government reports, describing them as merely compositional and descriptive, lacking data and information related to financial and investments aspects, in particular reports of financial institutions and government funds.
“Their reports are dominated by an achievement culture, while they should include accounting items,” said Fayez Al-Shahri, a member of the council.
The assistant chairman of the council said amendments should be made to the reports to include more detailed content, transparency, inclusiveness and clarity for every government report.
“This will enable the council to further contribute to the improvement of government performance and boost its quality,” he added.
Muna Al-Mushait, a female member of the council, demanded that the reports be comprehensive. “Otherwise, it will deliver misleading information to citizens, or be exploited by media in case they contain any obstacles facing government bodies in their efforts to serve citizens.”
