A senior teacher of economics at the International Indian School, Jeddah, B. Kasper Raju, died on Thursday in Jeddah.
Mr. Raju was suffering from cancer for the past few months. He was 59 and survived by his wife, son and a daughter.
Raju, who hailed from Guntakal in Andhra Pradesh, joined the school in 1991. He was humble and polite with a fine sense of humor. Ever ready to help anyone who needed it, Raju was popular among both students and staff.
“Raju was a dedicated teacher and produced excellent results in his subject,” said one colleague. “Despite being hospitalized, he continued to guide his students via the social media networking site, Facebook giving them useful tips and advice during the CBSE exams last year,” he added.
All the staff and management of IISJ have conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.
