SAIB scores double in Interbank Bowling League

Saudi Investment Bank captained by veteran Dong Calub scored a Team of the Week and Bowler of the Week double during the second session in the Interbank Tenpin Bowling League 2013 Conference being played at the Riyadh InterContinental Hotel Bowling Center here.
SAIB blanked long time rival SAMA-Abana Unified team 340-0 and Calub completed the double when he rolled the high series of 818 to become the individual awardee.
Calub received support from Ariel Diaz, Julius Queypo and Mike Benito who shot 700, 690 and 647 respectively. They were assisted by Ed Robillos with 625 in three games and Eddison Austria with 164.
SAMA-Abana Unified had trouble finding the right manpower maneuvering against SAIB. The trio of Bernie Torres, Jun Bolocboloc and Clem Guelas tallied four-game series of 697, 685 and 680. Team captain Teody Zulaybar and Jun Macarandan had 515 and 498 in three games while David Smart rolled 290 in two games.
Defending champion Shabab SABB crushed previous week honoree Alinma Bank 260-50. Fahad Al Heza was the leading scorer of the winning team on 779 followed by Arnold Jezena (731), captain Ahmed Qarquosh (669) and Jaffer Al Kathiri (658). Veteran Jerry Austria had 579 in three games while Sam Alinsod tallied 162.
Obet Mata paced Alinma with an impressive four-game series handicap of 674 followed by Jerry Barce (662), Rome Burgos (661) and Angel Train (628), while Vic Agregado and Soc Mejia had matching cards of 312.
Sister teams BSF and BSF-CBG battled to a draw. However, BSF captained by Jun Bantug edged out BSF-CBG by claiming 60 bonus points during the second and fourth games thanks to combined efforts of Noel Morales (749), Bantug (740) and Edwin Timango (710). Joseph Adao and Ric Camara rolled 513 and 492 while Dawood Sereno had 312.
Team captain Ken Hechanova was the main man in BSF-CBG with 691 followed by Alfred Estrada (673), Abet Minosa (648) and Guilbert Mesias with 644. Art Bumatay rolled 564 while Ricky Domingues had 130.
The match between former champions Saudi Hollandi Bank and PNB Unified ended in a draw with both teams on 100 points. However, PNB edged ahead with 83 bonus points during the second game. The trio of Sonny Alviso, Rey Bautista and the tournament's first Bowler of the Week Ronald Cruz carded a series of 803, 783 and 687. They were supported by Tenz Taeza (558) and Mixi Lechuga (501) while Roland Garcia and James Frizzle had 164 and 127.
Top scorers in SHB were Arnel Bernabe (759), Gerry Ayonon (722) , Rodel Yap (683) and Clem Salazar (622). Gil Hembra and Val Baraquio added 382 and 311.
