Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah gives top priority to the progress and prosperity of Saudi citizens and becomes disappointed when he receives their complaints about shortcomings in services, says Prince Muqrin, second deputy premier.
In an exclusive interview with Arrajol magazine, a sister publication of Arab News, Prince Muqrin said: “Those who are close to the king can feel his unhappiness when he receives a citizen’s complaint about poor services of a government agency.”
He said sincerity and frankness are the hallmarks of King Abdullah’s character.
He also spoke about his close relationship with Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense.
“These ties began when he became the Riyadh governor and I used to consult him on every matter,” he said.
Prince Muqrin emphasized the importance of investing in citizens. “It is not an option but a necessity and we’ll certainly get its fruits in the near future,” he added.
He highlighted the development achieved by the Kingdom during King Abdullah’s era, especially in education, health, security and services.
The king had announced quick measures when Jeddah was hit by torrential floods two years ago, to tackle floods and punish culprits that caused the tragedy, the prince said.
