Khalejiat 2013, an exhibition of Gulf countries’ traditions, heritage, culture, brands, products, handmade products, handicraft and designers will be held at Jeddah Hilton on July 20-22, according to Abeer Arif, president of the organizing committee.
She said on Tuesday that the exhibition, which was held earlier in Kuwait and other Gulf countries, is brought to the Kingdom by Pink Ribbon under the auspices of Princess Sarah bint Faisal bin Saud.
Arif said that more than 120 business women and many companies from the Gulf are participating in the exhibition.
“Our aim is to promote Saudi women’s businesses, and at the same time to let the public experience the culture, tradition and heritage of Gulf countries. It will be the biggest festival of Jeddah and will be a new experience for women,” she said.
“We have also involved the productive families of Faisaliyh charitable organization to help them in showcasing their products and let them have experience of the market.
Ramadan will also give a spiritual touch and showcase our traditions and hospitality during Ramadan,” she added.
Dr. Ayman Abdel Meguid Pachauri, general manager of Princess Sara said, “Our main aim is to promote women’s business, promote handmade products of the producing families, Saudi Arabian products, culture and traditions with the colors of other Gulf countries.” He said that it was planned to make it an annual event.
On the opening day the exhibition will be open for the media after the Maghrib prayers, but after the Isha prayers it will be only for women. The exhibition will remain open from Isha till 2 p.m.
