MYN Motors, the sole agent of Land Rover cars in Saudi Arabia, recently organized a special event where media representatives were invited to test drive the new models of Land Rover 2013 and to explore the innovative engineering featured by the new generation of these sophisticated cars. The test-drive event was organized north of Jeddah in rough and tough conditions.
MYN Motors provided all automobile journalists with a new wide-ranging fleet of Land Rover vehicles, coupled with a 3-day test-drive program. The test-drive location has many hard-hitting features comprising rocky hills and sandy areas where Land Rover creatively showcased its full capabilities and impeccable responses offering a smooth ride.
Husham Abdul Raouf, Land Rover sales manager in the Kingdom, expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to all those who supported this first ever event. Mohammed Al-Amoudi, Jeddah’s showroom manager, gave a visual presentation of different Land Rover models, including the all-new model that comes in 3 different categories - HSE, Vogue & Vogue SE, and Autobiography.
This new model has undergone many changes including, but not limited to, the external appearance that has been entirely redesigned, without sacrificing the well-known features of Range Rover, which makes the car bigger in size and lighter in weight. The external frame has been reconstructed in aluminum; it becomes 39 percent lighter in weight than steel. A new aluminum chassis has been manufactured to minimize the vehicle’s weight to 420 km in comparison with the previous models. This car comes with a powerful V8 Super Charge 5.0 liter engine, capable of generating power up to 510 HP and V8 5.0 liter 375 HP engine. But the drivers felt that it was this vehicle’s eight-speed automatic transmission that created much of the thrill.
Range Rover sport comprises 3 different models including RR Sport 5.0 V8 SE, RR Sport 5.0 V8 LE and RR Sport 5.0 V8 HSE.
The exterior of Range Rover sport has powerful features. It has Alcantara spacious leather seats, electric adjustable cushions in the driver seat, memory set and external electrically foldable heated mirrors. The car’s engine is an excellent representative of its philosophy. It sorts an LR-V8 engine, 5 liters and 510 HP that responds instantly, with plenty of torque. This engine is a well-thought-out one, considered as the most powerful one among Range Rovers cars.
Range Rover PRE:
A masterwork of automotive design, Range Rover PRE is a smart youthful car; its elegant interior creates a friendly spacious environment for all passengers. It features a state-of-the-art, turbocharged, 2.0 liter engine. Although this engine has less acceleration among its peers, it competes with its economy fuel consumption at a range of 8.7 liter/100 km.
Land Rover LR4:
Land Rover unveils a diversity of changes made on Discovery LR4, including the external body by adding 5 new colors, black gleaming ventilation network, black roof beams and 19/20 inches black metallic wheels. The internal cabin has been enriched with cutting-edge stuff and advanced navigation system.
Land Rover LR2:
This model embraces a variety of luxurious specifications vividly shown in its external look and internal refined decors. It is equipped with powerful V4 engine, 2.0 liter, 240 HP and 6-speed automatic transmission.
At the end of the event, the participants expressed their satisfaction and happiness over their test-drive experience.
