NOXEN, Pennsylvania: The manager of a small airport in New York state says a helicopter stopped there for fuel more than six hours before it crashed in northeastern Pennsylvania, killing five people on board.
Gerard Corprew is the manager of the Tri Cities Airport in Endicott. He says records show the helicopter stopped there for fuel at about 4:10 p.m. Saturday. Corprew says the helicopter must have come back to the airport at least once more, because a father and young son killed in the crash were still waiting to be picked up when he left at 7 p.m.
Authorities have yet to release the names of those killed in the crash.
Corprew says the helicopter is sometimes used for tours. A federal tail number he provided shows the aircraft is owned by Robinson Helicopter Co. of Torrance, California.
