Samsung Electronics and InterContinental Hotel Jeddah, in collaboration with the Disabled Children’s Association (DCA), organized a charity sahoor for the disabled.
The event was held in the presence of Prince Sultan bin Nasser, Prince Khaled bin Sultan bin Nasser and Prince and First Pilot Lt. Abdullah bin Sultan bin Nasser.
Jae Cheon Park, GM of Samsung Electronics for Saudi Arabia, said: “This event is held as a small gesture of giving back to the community that chose Samsung to be their preferred brand.”
He added: “According to You Gov Index, Samsung has been ranked number one brand in Saudi Arabia for two consecutive years, and for that we are truly proud and thankful, and this event is merely the first step of many steps to come that will show our responsibility toward your valuable trust.”
Three disabled Saudi members spoke about their dreams, such as Faris Al-Ghamdi who wants to become a policeman to protect his country and enforce the law,” Abdullah Ba Hafs who wants to be among those who take the Qur’an as their guide,” and Safar Al-Hogbani who wishes to have a sports club for himself and his disabled brothers and sisters, “where we can practice our favorite sports.”
Hana Al-Alwani, DCA’s manager, expressed her thanks for holding this initiative, which had the best effect on the children, and insisted that “the society must interact with the disabled children to embrace them as active and productive members of the society.”
During the same evening, the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry awarded Samsung and InterContinental two separate trophies for their contributions to the community.
