Kashmir dispute

The anti-Pakistan resolution passed by the Indian Parliament closed with the cliché that “Kashmir is an integral part of India.” I wonder for how long India aims to hoodwink the world. Kashmir is a disputed territory and Kashmiris keep reminding the world that India is occupying it. Anti-India resentment in Kashmir is at its peak now and the recent killings in Kishtwar have only exacerbated the alienation. India can never be at peace with Pakistan until it solves the Kashmir issue. A solution to the Kashmir dispute should be found sooner than later. Rants that Kashmir is an “integral part of India” do not help India nor do they lessen alienation in Kashmir. — Asif Sufi, Alkhobar
