A delegation from the Korean electronics giant Samsung visited the King Saud University (KSU) recently to examine ways and means to help develop KSU’s e-learning services and education technology.
The delegation, headed by Pak Hong, an educational technology professor at Seoul University and a consultant for Samsung, was received by Sultan Al-Mutairi, KSU’s dean of e-learning and the vice dean of development and quality, and Raid Alsoghayer, the vice dean of Academic Affairs.
They discussed areas of mutual interest and cooperation with KSU focusing on the quality of education and entrepreneurship to prepare graduates for tomorrow. This will be accomplished through development of skills and talent through lifelong learning to become future leaders and knowledge agents for the Kingdom, a KSU official said.
During the visit, KSU staff familiarized the Samsung delegation with e-learning experience at the University, and came up with suggestions where the two countries can cooperate. As part of the meeting, the dean also showed the Samsung delegation some of the university’s notable projects, such as the smart campus, and the e-learning curriculum development project.
Recognizing the importance of maintaining its integrity and competency, the KSU is aiming to disseminate and promote knowledge in the Kingdom for widening the base of scientific studies.
Established in 1957 to enhance Saudi Arabia’s growth and well-being, King Saud University is the premier institution of higher education in the Kingdom today.
