Bangus clinches Kingdom Dream Games 1 title

Jesse Mapanao pumped in eight of his 31 points in the fourth quarter to lead Bangus Restaurant to a 97-88 victory over NPC Pipers, 97-88, in Game 3 of their best-of-three championship series in the Kingdom Dream Games Part 1 last Friday.

Mapanao was named as the Best Player of the Game by the Filipino Arabian Basketball Association (FABA) officials. The point guard of Bangus hauled down seven rebounds and recorded four assists and one steal.

As the KDG Part 1 officially ended, the Kingdom Dream Games Part 2 started on the same day with heated and exciting matches.

In the opening game, the visiting Lanao-Leyte Paparoti Café from Riyadh demolished the FAEC squad of Dammam, 92-78, in the Premier League division.

KFMMC edged the Saipem team, 86-83, in the Inter-Company A category, while the Wildcats likewise won over the RHM in the Inter-Company B category by a hairline, 83-81.

“FABA is committed to entertain and serve the community. This is why we are always here to give fun to our players and spectators,” FABA chairman Abdulaziz “Jawo” Dizon said.

This tournament will also scout new and potential players for the FABA selection which will represent the group in a showdown with other regions in the Kingdom.

“Our games will be different now. We will develop our players to be introduced and be known to the whole Filipino community in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” FABA commissioner, Ely Panahon, explained.

The Kingdom Dream Games is supported by its main sponsors Fahad Alireza Engineering Consultant and Hempel Paints Saudi Arabia as platinum sponsors.
