NBA Team, Encila clinch honors in Al Rabie-IBG Friday League

At resumption of the Itqan Bowlers Group (IBG) Friday Afternoon Bowling League 3rd Conference sponsored by Al Rabie Saudi Food Industries Company, the NBA Team keglers and Cas Encila of Zezo claimed the Best Team and Best Bowler accolade respectively at the Universal Bowling Center here.
The league is organized by the IBG through the untiring IBG Advocate Ian Choco. Also supporting the league is Thales represented by Nelson de Vera.
NBA produced 24 big points and total team handicap output of 4,131 to humiliate Itqan Tornado which registered 13 points and total team handicap output of 3,855. At the forefront of NBA team is the troika of Edwin Atienza (886), southpaw Ronald Bautista (842) and Nelson de Vera (819. Splendid support was extended by fellow members Joe Garrido (780), youthful Nina de Vera (422) and Bandar Al-Marshad.
Jojie Manalansan carded 891 to lead Itqan Tornado while coming in next to him were Freddie Santiago (783), Ruben Babasa (755) and veteran Jett Cabana (688).
In another grueling match, Zezo edged Saco, 19-18 thanks mainly to the week’s best bowler, Encila, who rocked the lanes to score 912 series handicap on games of 220, 244, 220 and 170. Fhel Ramos and Boy Mirando backed up Encila by producing separate series of 862 and 801 while Ely Fanugao, Jojo Miraflor, Danny Trinidad and Ed Cruz chipped in with 416, 411 and 378.
Having the best score in Saco was Jun Sebastian with 847 series followed Stephen Ajera (840), Fernie Ballano (825) and Joel Batolina (718). Ferdie dela Rosa and George Sto. Domingo added separate series of 429 and 361.
In another pair of lanes, the deadly combination of Erwin Atienza, Joselito Santillan, Jeffrey Sobrevic and Edwin Quano powered Saudi-Oger past My Girl, 22-13. Atienza finished on 898 with Santillan on 827, Sobrevic 818 and Quano 806. Arnold Pineda contributed 707.
Edgar Buenaventura paced My Girl on 866 while the duo of Leo Mabunga and Joel Lambo came in next to Buenaventura on 782 and 737. Cheng Herosa and Archie Oliva tossed in separate series 711 and 699.
Roll and Bowl recorded 21-11 victory against ABB JeX behind the durable Fred Dioquino (856), Jove Marano (842), Butch Espinosa (765) and Ernie Tulang (715).
Leading scorers in ABB JeX were Louie Laguardia (868) and Rurik Ian Santos (802). Mel Solas and Rollie Navales shared 736 and 684 while Glenn Espiritu and Veo Adina contributed 377 and 336.
Angel Vipers rolled past Dabarkads 19-15 behind Angel Caasi (902), Edgar Badeo (792) and Shawn Rickett (736).
Super Bowl scored 18 points to beat Itqan Tenpin Wizards who could only muster 14 points. Noel Morales led Super Bowl by posting 830 points while topscoring in Itqan Tenpin Wizards was Ric Singson on 811.
Magnificent-5 clobbers Thales 16-11 with Paul Decena producing the top score of 820.
