The Sharafiya Committee at the Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC) recently distributed air tickets to eight illegal Indian workers to help them leave the Kingdom.
The OICC had earlier given tickets to two illegal Indian workers. “We have selected these workers from among illegals who are living under the Sharafiya bridge,” said KTA Muneer, a spokesman of the organization.
Muneer thanked Joy Alukkas for its support to the charitable program, entitled “Dream Journey,” organized by the cultural organization.
Beneficiaries included people from different states of India, including Palani Swami, Tanga Raju, Samiullah, Abdul Salam, Hari Kumar, Khan Muhammad, Nissar and Raju.
The tickets were distributed by OICC office bearers, including Sharief Kunhu, Kunhali Haji, Zakir Hussein, Rashid Kolathara and Kunhi Muhammad.
Baby Thomas, marketing manager of Joy Alukkas, and Jaleel Kannamangalam, president of Jeddah Media Forum, attended the ceremony.
