Residents and visitors to the Eastern Province can enjoy free Wi-Fi high-speed Internet through Mobily.
The new service is available in Dammam and the north Khobar beaches.
Mobily said it added more than 40 access points to provide free Internet services to beach visitors through its most advanced infrastructure which proves its reliability during Haj seasons.
It said the free services could be obtained through the service homepage. Users should provide their cell phone numbers with country code (966) and will then be sent the password to go online to ensure privacy, according to Mobily.
Fahd Aljubair, mayor of the Eastern Province, said the broadband access across the two cities is part of an economic development strategy that reflects ongoing integration between public and private sectors.
This strategic partnership with Mobily ensures the best services and Wi-Fi facilities for people who visit the beach, he said.
Aljubair said the Eastern Province municipality is working to transform Dammam and Alkhobar into smart cities as part of its development program in the region.
Mobily’s CEO Khalid Al-Kaf said the project reflects the company’s devotion to participate in the governmental projects and to play a major role in the integration between the public and private sectors as part of its corporate social responsibility. He said the company also aims at enriching people’s lives with the latest technology utilizing its networks and infrastructures to keep the people connected.
Mobily has previously covered the beach of Jeddah with high-speed Wi-Fi Internet as the company acquires the largest percentage of broadband users through its reliable networks that cover the entire country.
