The Ministry of Haj is getting ready to set up the camps for domestic Haj pilgrims at the holy sites.
A member of the Haj and Umrah national committee, Sa’ad bin Jamil Al-Qurashi, told local journalists that an instruction booklet would be distributed to all pilgrim companies in the next few days, before the allocation of tents in Mina and Arafat.
A total of 249 companies are licensed to operate this year to cater to more than 100,400 pilgrims after the 50 percent reduction in the local quota because of the current expansion work at the Grand Mosque.
“Companies are obliged to offer a bank guarantee of SR400 for each pilgrim, which will cover 30 percent of its pilgrims. The ministry will allocate camps according to its evaluation grading based on last season's performance,” he said.
The first stage would be given to companies that got more than 85 points, the second stage to companies between 70 and 85 points, and the third stage to companies with 70 points, he said.
